CONSTITUTION

ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION

1. NAME AND AFFILIATION

The working group on nutrition and mineral metabolism (WGNMM) is a subgroup of the ESPR. The constitution of ESPR is binding upon WGNMM.

2. OBJECTIVES

The aim of WGNMM is to promote research in the regulation of mineral metabolism in Europe by working inside the organisation of ESPR. The objective can also be achieved by directly stimulating research and education concerning to related disorders of the newborn, child and adolescent.

3. MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to any person who is active, senior or affiliate member of ESPR.

4. ORGANISATION

  1. WGNMM has its own annual business meeting which will be held during the annual ESPR meeting. The WGNMM council must give notice of the annual business meeting 4 months in advance.
  2. The annual business meeting shall make decisions by simple majority of the votes of active members of ESPR present.
  3. All members of ESPR shall have the right to participate and speak at the annual meeting. Representation is not possible.
  4. The Secretary shall propose the agenda to the annual business meeting and shall send it out together with invitations to the meeting. Written proposals for the agenda submitted by members at least 2 months before the annual business meeting must be included in the agenda. The GNMM Council will consider whether proposals received after this deadline will be included in the agenda.
  5. The secretary will take the chair. If he/she is unable to do so, a member of the council may stand in for him/her.
  6. The following items fall within the competence of the annual business meeting:
    1. Acceptance of the minutes of the last business meeting
    2. Approval of the report of the secretary
    3. Decisions concerning the activity of WGNMM, such as amendments to the constitution or dissolution of the group.
  7. A proposal concerning changes in the constitution or dissolution of the working group shall be approved only if at least three-quarters of the active members present at the annual business meeting vote in favor.

5. THE COUNCIL

  1. The council of the working group shall consist of:
    1. Secretary term 3 years, active member
    2. 2 council members term 2 years, active or senior members.

The term is only valid for the respective position. Re-election to the same position is possible for one more term.

  1. Candidates for membership of the council must be proposed by at least two members. The candidates shall be elected at the annual business meeting by a simple majority of the vote cast. Only active members may vote.
  2. Those members of the council who do not hold office as secretary must be of different nationalities.
  3. If the secretary is unable to complete the term, one of the council members appointed by the president of ESPR will act for him/her. If any other of the council members is unable to complete his/her term of office, new members will be elected at the next annual business meeting.
